  • New and upgraded police facilities
    A replacement facility for Proserpine and upgraded facility in Mackay.
  • Early Intervention and Rehabilitation
    $560 million for comprehensive early intervention and rehabilitation programs across the state, to reduce youth offending and reduce the number of victims.

DELIVERING health services when you need them

  • Mackay Hospital expansion
    The Mackay Hospital will be expanded with at least 128 new overnight beds as part of the Hospital Rescue Plan.
  • More health workers
    More health workers for Mackay Whitsundays, with additional funding in 2025–26 to grow the workforce to 2,995 (FTE) across Mackay Hospital and Health Service.

DELIVERING a better lifestyle through a stronger economy

  • More social and community housing
    $44.1 million to expand and improve social and community housing in Mackay Whitsundays, with 110 social homes in construction or under contract towards the delivery of 53,500 by 2044, in partnership with the Australian Government.
  • Frontline housing and homelessness services
    Delivering housing and homelessness services to vulnerable Queenslanders across the Mackay Whitsundays region to assist them to secure long-term housing and access other specialist support services including temporary accommodation, outreach and connection to broader community services. This is provided through funding and partnerships with Specialist Homelessness Services.

DELIVERING a plan for Queensland’s future

  • Whitsunday Skyways
    $5 million towards the Whitsunday Skyway tourism attraction project.
  • Games On! and 2032 Delivery Plan – Harrup Park
    $23.5 million for the stage two Great Barrier Reef Arena upgrade at Harrup Park as part of the Games On! Grassroots Infrastructure Program, as the venue prepares to host Olympic cricket under the 2032 Delivery Plan.
