Expansion of Mother and Baby Units

Adding eight new perinatal mental health mother and baby beds in Townsville, providing new mums with access to specialist mental healthcare while staying close to their little ones, ensuring both receive the support and connection they need.

Townsville University Hospital expansion

Delivering Stage 1 to provide at least 165 new overnight beds, focused on meeting clinical needs, as part of the Hospital Rescue Plan.

CopperString

Delivering a record investment in CopperString, including progressing early works, design, approvals and procurement to connect the North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid. Part of the Queensland Energy Roadmap.

Crime Prevention School

Establishing new specialised Crime Prevention Schools, including in Townsville, to re-engage youth who have disengaged from mainstream education and are at risk of falling into crime.

Kirwan Police Complex Stage 2

Delivering a new state-of-the-art Police Academy, Dog Squad and other specialised facilities in Townsville ($100 million over four years).
