Everyone is feeling cost-of-living pressures. Find support to manage household costs including bills, transport, housing, health care and education. In tough times, every little bit helps.
$1,300 electricity bill support
All Queensland households will automatically receive $1,300 off their electricity bills in 2024–25. An upfront $1,000 Cost of Living Rebate from the Queensland Government, and a $300 rebate from the Australian Government paid quarterly.
50c fares cheaper public transport
A flat fare of 50 cents will be applied across the state’s Translink public transport network for 6 months from 5 August 2024.
20% off vehicle registration
Car registration costs will be reduced 20 per cent for 12 months. The discount will benefit around 5.7 million Queenslanders.
$200 Fairplay vouchers
Up to $200 in vouchers to help Queensland children and young people aged between 5 and 17 years to participate in sport and active recreation activities.
First home concession
Eligibility for the first home concession will be extended to homes with a dutiable value up to $800,000 (up from $550,000 currently).
½ price Brisbane Airtrain
Airtrain tickets to and from Brisbane Airport terminals will be half price for 6 months from 5 August 2024.
